What is GoldenEye chloramphenicol eye ointment? GoldenEye chloramphenicol eye ointment contains the active ingredient chloramphenicol which is a broad spectrum antibiotic used to treat bacterial conjunctivitis. How do I use chloramphenicol eye drops? For adults and children aged 2 years and over - Apply about 1cm of ointment to the affected eye(s) 3-4 times per day for a 5 day course of treatment. If you are using the chlroamphenicol eye drops during the day and the eye ointment at night, apply the ointment at night before going to bed. Warnings A child below the age of 2 with an eye infection should be seen by a doctor. Do not use this product if you: are allergic to chloramphenicol or any of the ingredients in this medicine have ever had problems with your blood (in particular a very low number of blood cells) during treatment with chloramphenicol have a family history of blood problems; such as low white blood cell, red blood cell or platelet counts. Do not use this product and contact your doctor if: Your eye sight is affected You have pain within the eye Your eye has suffered a blow or other injury Your eye is inflamed and you have a rash on your scalp or face The pupil of the eye looks unusual or the eye looks cloudy Your eyes are sensitive to light You have (or think you have) a foreign body in your eye which has not been removed. You have recently had an eye infection You suffer from, or have ever suffered from, glaucoma or dry eye syndrome You wear contact lenses. If you wear contact lenses and your lense practitioner or doctor has advised you use this product, do not wear your lenses during the course of treatment, wear your glasses instead. Soft contact lenses should not be replaced for 24 hours after completeing the treatment You are using other eye drops or eye ointment You have had eye surgery or laser treatment in the last 6 months Other medicines and GoldenEye chloramphenicol eye ointment. If you are taking bone marrow depressant medicines (medicines which decrease the activity of the bone marrow, causing low blood cell counts) such as azathioprine or receiving chemotherapy, seek the advise of a doctor or pharmacist before using this priduct. If you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant or breast feeding tell your doctor or pharmacist before using this product. GoldenEye chloramphenicol ointment can blur your vision so do not drive or operate machinery until your vision is clear. Keep out of the reach of children.
