Exorex Lotion is the most important product within the Exorex Management System as it is indicated for the treatment of psoriasis whilst others are complementary products designed to assist in the management of psoriasis. The patented formulation contains 5% prepared coal tar in a base of esterified essential fatty acids. Exorex Lotion should be applied to affected areas of the skin or scalp two to three times per day. Exorex lotion can be used in conjunction with other products in the range such as Exorex Moisturising Cream or Exorex Hair and Body Shampoo. What is Psoriasis? Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory disease affecting about 2% of the population. It causes scaly patches of skin typically on the back of elbows, knees, lower back and scalp. Psoriasis causes skin cells to replace each other much faster than normal, so that skin cells accumulate on the skin’s surface. The plaques (raised red patches of skin) may be covered with silvery white scales. Historically coal tar containing products were messy to use but newer products like Exorex are much easier to apply.
